A SUCCESSFUL Ashbourne businessman is expanding his company after recognising an opportunity in the market.
With an abundance of caravans and creative campers in the area, Richard Johnson has launched Peak Caravan Upholstery.
The company, which offers a nationwide service, specialises in the leisure industry – including the re-upholstery of caravans, motorhomes and log cabins as well as horse boxes and houseboats.
Richard says that as the leisure industry grows, people are becoming more adventurous with their styling decisions.
He said: “People aren’t limiting their creativity to their houses anymore, and instead transferring it to their outdoor retreats.
“With a wealth of different fabrics, colours and foams, Peak Caravan Upholstery can play a significant part in bringing people’s visions to life.
“We offer a bespoke service and work closely with clients to suit their individual budgets.
“As the winter months approach and as many caravans are going into storage, now is the ideal time for this work to take place.”
With a team of three, the family-run business boasts an easy process – clients don’t even need to visit the shop, just post their cushions, and every stage of the procedure is completed on the premises within the town.
Based in Compton, the enterprise is part of the well-established Cosmopolitan Upholstery, which is celebrating its fourth year in the town after relocating from Long Eaton.
Mr Johnson, who entered the trade as an apprentice, has 30 years experience.
